Privacy policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

This page explains what personal information we collect through shanggejoinery.com, why we collect it, who sees it, where it is held and how long we keep it. It covers enquiries, quotes and orders that begin on this site.

We are Shangge Joinery, a joinery supplier based at Building 7, Huashuo Yulongyuan, Longhushan Avenue, Honggutan District, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. We sell to Australian builders, architects, dealers and homeowners, so most of the information described here is held in China and in the network of the company that hosts this site. Section 3 sets out exactly what leaves Australia, because that is the part Australian privacy law asks us to be specific about.

1. What we collect

When you submit an enquiry form we store the fields you fill in: your name, email address, company name, phone number, city, the role you select, the product category you are interested in, the approximate scale you describe, and your requirements text. Name, email, city and role are required; company, phone, scale and requirements are optional.

We also record, automatically, the page you submitted from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, an approximate country, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored — only a hash that cannot be turned back into the address. It is used for rate limiting and for spotting duplicate submissions.

  • No advertising or analytics cookies
  • No third-party tracking scripts embedded in any page
  • No account, login or payment details are collected on this site

2. Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, work out an indicative scope and price, and answer the questions you asked. If an enquiry becomes an order, the same details are used to prepare setting-out drawings, production paperwork, packing lists, shipping documents and warranty records.

We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade your details to anyone.

3. Who sees it, and where it is held

Your information is transferred to and stored in China, and also passes through the network of our website host, whose servers are outside China. Australian Privacy Principle 8 applies to that transfer: we tell you where the data goes, we limit access to the staff who need it for your enquiry, and we require the same handling from the providers we use.

We disclose your information to no other third party unless we are required to by law, or you ask us to.

  • Our sales and production staff in China — only those handling your enquiry
  • Cloudflare — hosts this site and stores enquiries in its database, outside China
  • WeCom — our internal notification channel, operated in China, receives the enquiry text
  • Our email provider — receives your address only when an acknowledgement or reply is sent

4. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up the conversation if the project restarts, then deleted. Where an order is placed, project records are kept for as long as the contract and the record-keeping requirements that apply to us require.

The IP hash is stored with the enquiry record and is deleted with it. It is never used to identify you.

5. How it is protected

The site is served over HTTPS end to end. Enquiries are held in a database that is reachable only through an admin page protected by a password, and that page is excluded from search engines and from the sitemap. IP addresses are hashed before storage, so a copy of the database does not reveal them.

6. Access, correction and deletion

Write to [email protected] and tell us what you want to see, change or remove. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm you are the person the enquiry came from, so that we do not hand one buyer's details to another.

If you ask us to delete an enquiry, we remove the record. Where an order is in progress we may need to keep the minimum the contract requires, and we will tell you what that is.

7. Complaints

Tell us first — most issues are settled by correcting or deleting a record. If we have not replied within 30 days, or you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Complaints to the OAIC are free.

8. Children

This site is aimed at trade buyers and adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us details, write to us and we will delete them.

9. Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we handle it changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Enquiries already received are handled under the version that applied when they were submitted, unless you agree otherwise.
