Materials, Hardware & Compliance
Hardware is where cheap cabinetry announces itself
A door that drops after two years, a drawer that needs a shove, a hinge that rusts in a bathroom — these are not finishing problems, they are specification problems. Our standard fit-out uses soft-close hinges and runners throughout rather than reserving them as an upgrade.
Hinges
Hinges are dimensionally adjusted at dry assembly so the door gap is even before the cabinet is packed, and clip-on mounting is used so a damaged hinge can be replaced without removing the door. In bathrooms and laundries we specify a corrosion-resistant finish rather than the standard one, because a hinge that rusts at a sink is a callback.
Runners and drawer systems
Full-extension runners are standard on kitchen drawers and on any drawer that will hold cutlery, pots or laundry. Where a project specifies an internal drawer organisation — cutlery inserts, pan dividers, bins — we draw it into the panel schedule so the carcass is drilled to suit at the factory rather than modified on site.
Loading limits published by the hardware manufacturer govern what we will specify. A 30 kg runner on a 900 mm pot drawer is a specification error, and we will not sign it off.
Lift systems and speciality hardware
Overhead lift-ups, pull-down wardrobe rails, corner carousels and pocket-door systems are all supported where the project specifies them. These are the components most often specified without checking whether the carcass can carry them, so we review the housing dimensions before production rather than after.

Frequently asked
- Can we supply our own hardware?
- Yes, and some importers prefer it. We will need the cut-out dimensions and fixing details before production. Where client-supplied hardware arrives late or does not match the drilled pattern, the delay sits outside our production lead time.
- Do hinges and runners carry a warranty?
- Manufacturer warranty terms apply as published by the hardware supplier for the range supplied, and are passed through with the shipment documentation. The contract states the period once the range is fixed.
